The Road Haulage Association (RHA) says it is imperative that

that this information is provided to hauliers for each consignment.

Richard James Smith, Managing Director of the Road Haulage Association (RHA) commented: “As we have done from the very outset, we’ll continue to ensure Government officials are aware of the realities and operational issues with the Trader Support Service.”

He continued: “With the introduction of new arrangements for the movement of goods from Great Britain to Northern Ireland now coming into full effect on 1 May, we’re urging Ministers and officials to actively address the broader issue of managing the divergence that’s likely to develop over time.”

In any ‘reset’ talks, there needs to be a concentrated and coordinated focus and action by both UK Government and the EU to address this. Further divergence could create future disruption and leave consumers and businesses operating in Northern Ireland paying the price. We’ll continue to provide regular feedback to authorities, collaborating with our members, stakeholders and other trade bodies to do so. At all times we want to ensure that the GB-NI supply chain is resilient and fluid. I welcome your thoughts.”
