Minister of State at the Department of Transport, James Lawless has visted Inver Energy’s jointly-owned Terminal in Foynes, Co. Limerick where Inver manages the importation, blending and distribution of fuels across Ireland, including its renewable diesel HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil).

During the visit, Daniel FitzPatrick, Inver’s Commercial Director and Brandon McMahon, Safety Officer at AFSC, showcased the state-of-the-art facilities and discussed the role of biofuels in achieving Ireland’s decarbonisation goals.

The Minister also had the chance to meet some of our dedicated drivers, including Sinead Lucey, who is part of our Transport Operations & Commercial Driving Apprenticeship programme. Sinead has recently successfully completed her training for rigid vehicles and will soon progress towards driving articulated trucks.

This visit follows the publication of the recent report “Decarbonising the Road Freight Sector Ireland, developed by FTA Ireland in collaboration with Inver Energy and other industry leaders. This report highlights the importance of combined efforts between industry and government in offering solutions to lower carbon emissions.
