Flags are flying at the Mercedes-Benz centre on Dublin’s Naas Road to mark the 30 years anniversary of the celebrated, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van – a milestone in light commercial vehicles history.
Fergus Conheady, Sales Manager for Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicles says the milestone: “will be marked in Summer at our headquarters on Dublin’s Naas Road and at our dealerships across the country as part of a world-wide celebration to be undertaken by Mercedes-Benz>”
Winner of the Continental ‘Irish Van of the Year’ Award on each occasion that a new, updated version has been introduced, the Sprinter has become what Conheady says is: “the benchmark in the large 3.0 – 5.5 tonne van segment, here and in more than 130 countries worldwide.”
A favourite amongst food, drinks and pharma companies, trades people, courier and package delivery specialists, and business-to-business fleet operators, high-profile users include Dunnes, Supervalu, Tesco and An Post. International names include Amazon, Coca-Cola, DHL, UPS, FedEx and more.
Alongside recent deliveries to an Garda Síochána, the Sprinter is a highly-visible unit in healthcare and emergency services, at the forefront of the HSE’s national ambulance service, and the decoratively-illustrated, interactive children’s ambulance fleet, ‘Bumbleance’,
With an all-electric eSprinter model now an established unit within the range, Mercedes-Benz expects Sprinter sales to exceed 5-million units globally within the current year.
