Gardai are reminding HGV drivers of their responsibilities, wth regardd to overloading their vehicles following the detection of an eight wheeler tipper truck, which was 16 tonne over its legal laden weight.
The roads policing unit in Kilkenny found that the lorry was 16 tonnes overweight after they inspected the vehicle.
The driver of the truck face charges after the truck tipped the scales with a laden weight of 48,140 kgs, some 16 tonne over the legal limit.
