FTA Ireland has met with the Minister for Climate, Environment and Energy and Minister for Transport Darragh O’Brien TD and Minister of State at the Department of Transport Sean Canney in Leinster House to present its key priorities over the coming months
CEO Aidan Flynn commented: “It is essential that the new government recognises the freight distribution and logistics sector as a crucial part of the Irish economy.”
He continued: “FTA Ireland is committed to working collaboratively with stakeholders and looks forward to engaging with the new government in a way that fosters a culture of cooperation, aiming to understand industry challenges and deliver not only the government’s programme but also a vibrant, resilient, and competitive freight distribution and logistics sector.”
He elaborated: “There are many pressing issues to address, including the decarbonisation of the sector, the geopolitical impacts on Irish supply chains, increasing regulations from both European and national levels, the implications of this on enforcement resources, road safety, and operational compliance. These require collaboration and effective leadership from the Ministers.”
Looking forward he said: “ We are hopeful that the Ministers recognise the vital importance of our industry to the Irish economy, and we look forward to working together to create a fair and competitive environment that encourages innovation and supports the growth of the Irish supply chain.”
