Gray
& Adams Dublin's opening discount offer

Gray & Adams Ltd, recently made the decision to open
a new depot in the Dublin area is offering a 10 per cent
discount to all customers throughout October and November.
Dermot Nolan, formerly Sales & Marketing Manager for
Iveco at Harris Group has been brought on board as the Managing
Director of the facility, which has now opened for business.
The new premises are conveniently located at Brownsbarn,
Kingswood Cross, Dublin 22, just off the Naas Road and beside
City West. This is just five minutes from the Red Cow Interchange.
While the depot will be primarily involved with after sales
care, sales will also be undertaken from the location. The
depot will be equipped to offer comprehensive after sales
services on all makes and specifications of insulated and
dry freight vehicles and trailers. Work undertaken ranges
from minor bodywork and chassis repairs through to full
sidewall replacement and full trailer refurbishment or body
remounts. Servicing and maintenance of trailers is not being
offered at this stage but is something that will be considering
once the depot is up and running.
The motivation for opening the depot as a repairs site is
so that Gray & Adams can now offer customers in the
Republic the same back-up service as the Northern customers
enjoy. Billy Dougan, Managing Director of Gray & Adams
Ireland commented: "Gray and Adams have been considering
a Dublin based business for a number of years but in the
past there have been factors which dissuaded us from taking
the plunge. One was the inability to recruit suitably skilled
workshop staff but with the slow down in the economy and
the introduction of in-house training, this is now less
of a problem.
Another issue was the exchange rate between the Euro and
Sterling but this has moved in our favour in the past twelve
months. Third and most importantly was the difficulty in
finding a suitable person to head up the operation. Having
had dealings with Dermot in his previous employment we soon
realised that he was the right person for the job."
Like most manufacturers, Gray and Adams has, in the past,
tried to use agents to provide product support, but with
little success. The decision to open a Gray & Adams
sister company therefore seemed like the logical route for
the company to take, given the success of other depots that
have been well established in Northern Ireland and other
parts of the UK.
Dermot Nolan added: "We are delighted to have finally
opened here in Dublin. It has taken us a little longer than
anticipated as finding the correct premises was not easy
but we now have an excellent, well equipped facility with
decent yard space and professional, well trained staff.
This allows us to offer our customers a complete package
when it comes to sales and after sales support."
