eTrip Services acquires Eazy Pass

eTrip Services Ireland, the parking and independent tolling fee collection service provider, has announced details of it's purchase of Eazy Pass Ltd. Since it's creation in 1998, Eazy Pass has acquired more than 60,000 clients and has issued in excess of 130,000 electronic tags. The acquisition of Eazy Pass now positions eTrip Services, as the number one supplier of electronic tolling and parking services in Ireland.

eTrip Services Ireland is an Irish company, jointly owned by Electro Automation Ltd and Egis Projects S.A. The company was formed in 2005 and is the first Irish company to offer a combined service of tolling and car parking from a single tag. eTrip is a member of the Information Exchange Agency (IEA) and therefore, it's electronic tag can be used on all toll roads across Ireland. "Our decision to acquire Eazy Pass is a demonstration of our confidence in the future of electronic tolling services in Ireland," said Ciara O'Brien, General Manager, eTrip Services. "We are now in our initial integration phase and this will be progressing over the coming months.

During the integration period, we will operate as two separate companies, therefore limiting any disruption to existing eTrip or Eazy Pass customers." Commenting on the announcement, Dermot MacEvilly, General Manager of Eazy Pass said: "The timing of the acquisition is perfect with the introduction of free flow on the M50 in August and provides us with the opportunity to offer additional services to existing Eazy Pass customers. During this integration period I would like to reassure our customers that there will be no distribution to our service and no need to change their existing Eazy Pass tag. Over the coming months we will be contacting our customers with details of the new services, which they can avail of with their existing tags."

eTrip and Eazy Pass tags allow consumers to electronically pay tariffs on all toll roads in Ireland including the M50 Westlink, Eastlink, Dublin Port Tunnel, M1, M4, M8 plus the future free-flow barrier free system on the M50 being introduced next month. Having either an eTrip or Eazy Pass tag for the new M50 system will allow hauliers to avail of the lowest toll fare under the new scheme.
