Dialacom introduces a state of the art tracking system

At a time when diesel prices continue to soar at the pumps, hauliers, international companies and individuals are looking at ways of reducing costs. Tullamore, Co. Offaly based Dialacom says that hauliers can best manage spiralling fuel costs by installing a GPS Satellite Tracking system in their vehicles.

To that end Dialacom has just released the GT Satellite Tracking system, which it says will increase truck efficiency without the monthly cost incurred by most tracking systems on the market.
Sales Manager Theresa Hyland explained how the system works. "This affordable GPS (Global Positioning System) with its 24 orbiting satellites covers the whole planet. It's very popular for its precision and reliability in various applications. It allows for the location of the vehicle through triangulation of three or more GPS Satellites.

The data collected by the control unit is sent to the operating centre and in turn allows them to check the exact position of the vehicle." The system also has security applications as Theresa explained: "The user can send and receive text message commands such as the location or alerts for vehicles moved outside a certain area. In case of attempted theft you'll receive a text on your mobile phone containing the exact address and the alarm trigger such as 'wires cut, attempted starting etc' .

It maps out an area of about 500m around the vehicle. If the vehicle is moved and goes out of this virtual circle, the system gives sends a text to inform you."Theresa explained: 'We have many customers who are looking for a cost effective way to increase efficiency and most tracking systems on the market at the moment have fees, which are charged monthly or yearly. This can be an expensive additional cost to companies. The GT Tracking system is supplied and installed onsite or after hours where necessary. It is covertly installed and not visible,. The mapping is extremely detailed and uses Google Earth Map."

She continued: It records journeys, speed and has fantastic detailed mapping. It doesn't have the monthly fee and so is extremely cost effective. The unit is yours and can be transferred from vehicle to vehicle at any stage."
