MEPs
agree Euro VI standards
The European Parliament's Environment Committee has agreed
Euro VI standards for heavy goods vehicles, which will apply
from January 2013. MEPs have adopted amendments that give
manufacturers only 12 months to sell off stock vehicles that
do not comply with the new limits.
MEPs backed the Commission's proposal to include measures
relating to access to repair information in the regulation,
so as to ensure effective competition on the market in repair
and maintenance services.
